One of the things that pisses me off about the modern internet is the lack of rec lists. While you still see them– very occasionally– on tumblr, most of the “rec list”ing online is now done via individual requests on reddit, which may or may not have good or even thoughtful answers. Some might think Ao3’s “sort by kudos” ability within certain tags supersedes the need for any rec lists, or that ao3 collections kind of make the making of them redundant; that is true to some extent. I do think the way forward is via tumblr posts, since some of the fics aren’t hosted on ao3 at all, but I have a website and might as well use it. It might be the undertaking of years, and consider this page under permanent construction for that reason.
